What is Hide A Pee®:

The Hide A Pee® is a pet care products and, more particularly, devices designed to increase the usability and improve the cleanliness of animal pee pads. Hide A Pee® is a pet care product designed to cover up wet spots on a dogs, cats, and other small animals indoor pee pad. It consists of small, reusable patterned mats (such as paw prints) that you place directly over the soiled areas. If you would like to cover up dog pee spots on a training pad to hide wet spots on a puppy pad to keep your dog from tracking messes around the house or to extend the life of the pad, you can use specialized reusable cover patches called Hide A Pee®

Why Hide A Pee®:

 1. It Helps Save the Environment:
By using Hide A Pee® less pee pads will go into the garbage, the dumpster and the landfill. The average person using pee pads for their dog uses approx. 225 pee pads a month and those end up in the garbage then in the dumpster and eventually into the landfill. By using Hide A Pee® you will be cutting your use of Dog pee pads by 1/4 -1/2 a month this will be approx. 56 – 112 less pee pads going into the landfill each month, and between 672 and 1,344 less dog pee pads going into the landfill in one year (and this is just using them for one dog). Imagine how much better that would be for the environment.

2. It Helps Save Money:

It may sound funny but this product will help you save money. If you follow the directions using our product you will be using between 1/4 – 1/2 less dog pee pads a month. So if you have been spending 80 dollars a month on Pee pads for example. then this product should save you between 20.00 and 40 dollars a month. So yes this product will pay for itself in the first two weeks, or at least in the first two months if you follow the directions.

3. For Cleaner Paws:
If you have been using dog pee pads then you will know that sometimes the dog will walk right through the pee on the pad and then get their paws dirty. The Hide A Pee® was created to cover the pee spots to keep your dogs paws cleaner.

Background of the Patent Pending Invention Hide A Pee®:

 Disposable absorbent pads (i.e., 'pee pads') designed to facilitate housebreaking and containment of animal waste have been widely adopted for indoor pet training and hygiene management. Such products are commonly employed to provide a sanitary surface for dogs, cats, and other small animals. Despite their utility, these pads are designed for single use in relation to localized soiling events, which limits their operational lifespan and increases environmental burden. These pads have been associated with growing concerns related to consumer costs, sustainability, and indoor hygiene maintenance.

Routine use of disposable absorbent pads often results in rapid saturation and visible discoloration once a localized region becomes soiled. In many cases, the confined nature of the pad's surface offers limited opportunity for animal repositioning, prompting pets to step directly into damp or contaminated zones. This interaction not only compromises the immediate cleanliness of the surrounding area but also necessitates prompt pad replacement to avoid malodor and unsanitary conditions. Additionally, repeated contact with wet zones can lead to tracking of moisture and waste particles beyond the intended containment area, further undermining the pad's purpose. Conventional strategies, such as folding unused sections or manually marking clean portions, lack consistency and may disrupt the animal's natural deposit patterns, thereby reducing overall pad efficacy and lifespan.

As can be seen, there has been a need for a simple solution that covers soiled areas, directs animals to clean sections of the pad, and maintains indoor hygiene without requiring early disposal of the entire absorbent pad.

How It Works:

•Prevents tracking: By covering the wet spot, it stops your dog from stepping in their own urine and tracking wet paw prints across your floors.

• Creates an "obstacle course": Dogs naturally avoid stepping on the mats. This encourages them to navigate to the remaining clean, open areas of the puppy pad to relieve themselves again.

• Extends pad life: It allows you to maximize the use of a single disposable pee pad by directing your dog to unused spots before replacing the whole pad.

•By methodically covering soiled regions, the described approach allows pet owners to extend the usage duration of each pad, decreasing the need for replacements and reducing the environmental impact linked to disposable pee pads.

Please note:

Animal pee pads are biodegradable but it takes 100 years for them to biodegrade. If you must use them then please use them responsibly and  you can use specialized reusable cover patches called Hide A Pee® to use extend the life of the pad, or something similar like it to cover the pee spots to get more use out of each pee pad.

Other uses for Hide A Pee®:

•The pee spot cover can also be used as a paperweight to keep the pee pad in place.

•The pee spot cover can also be used to lock to pee pads together by placing one hide a pee under the overlapping edges of the 2 pee pads and placing another hide a pee directly over that, and because they are stackable and have the raised corners will keep the 2 pads in place.

•The covers can also be used If a dog defecates on the pad the pet owner can then remove the waste if it is not messy and then the pet owner can cover the spot with toilet paper and then place the Hide A Pee® over the toilet paper as a paper weight to prevent the dog from stepping in the area.

•The covers can be used in a tic-tac-toe pattern, making the process more engaging or playful.

•The cover can be used to help collect a urine sample for veterinary purposes.

•Two covers can be stood up and leaned together to serve as a warning not to step in a particular area, for use both indoors and outdoors.

•The cover teaches the dog to walk around soiled spots and to urinate in a new, clean area, reinforcing better pad usage habits.

•The covers can create a fun obstacle course for the dog, adding an element of enrichment.

•If you find your pet pees directly onto the top of the Hide A Pee® you can try next time using it upside down and this creates a pet urinal that will hold the pee that then you can dispose of it, or if you have no way to quickly dispose of it you can cover the pet urinal with another Catch A Pee™, or Hide A Pee®. (Turning the Hide A Pee® over it becomes the Catch A Pee™ pet urinal)

• Two covers can be stood up and leaned together inside of a Catch A pee to create a target in center of pee pads for Boy Dogs, (and girl dogs like mine that think they are a boy dog) make sure to cover with toilet paper to prevent splattering.
